Beautiful Roses....

For the past few weeks, I have been enjoying roses and everything about them.  I love that I can buy them and have them sitting on the kitchen table looking very simple and they are lasting 8-10 days!  I never was so much of a rose person, but it is an amazingly gorgeous flower.....  I just had to share these pics because of their beauty ;0)

Some new "wall-art" for Jack ;0)

Apparently the walls in Jack's room were a little too white for the girls....  they decided to "re-decorate" and add some Scooby to the room ;0)  Jack is so excited and just loves his new pictures on the wall - he counts the pictures every night!!!  It's really too funny how obsessed this child is with scooby-doo, this really came out of nowhere!

A Good Time with Uncle Tim & Yee Lan

We had such a nice visit with my brother Tim and his girlfriend Yee Lan!  They did a major road trip out to California and stopped and stayed at our house both directions!!!  The kids always have such a great time seeing and playing with "Uncle Timmy" and they just totally adore Yee Lan!

They had some very exciting news to share with us on their return from the big road trip....  Timmy proposed at Arches Park in Moab and Yee Lan said YES!!!!

Neighborhood Pool Opening Party!!!

Our little neighborhood pool opened today....  there was a big celebration with yummy food and lots of people to mingle with.  Even though we didn't have the greatest weather for this event (it was super cloudy and a little chilly), everyone still had lots of fun ;0)

We can't wait for some nice & hot days to enjoy the pool some more!!!

Norah's Pre-K Lemonade Stand ;0)

Norah's little pre-k class had the most adorable little lemonade stand today....  they spent a good chunk of the day taking turns working at the little stand.  They sold to the rest of the school and invited parents to stop by at some point during the day ;0)  They ended up making about $25.00 to put back in the school - pretty good for little pre-schoolers!!!

Gracie's Presentation - "My Journey - All About Me"

Last night we were treated to a wonderful presentation by Gracie and the rest of her 2nd grade class.  At the school they currently attend, the teachers loop grades so they can be with a class for 2 years.  It's been a great experience for Grace and she simply adores her teacher Mark.  I am not a teacher, but I can imagine it is very difficult to leave some students at the end of the year.  (not everyone, but I am sure you always have your special kids who make your day...)  He has made it very clear how much he will be missing our little Gracie Girl.  When I really think about it, Mark has spent a good portion of her little life with her.  He has been one of the main people in her everyday life for 2 years....  She is also having an extremely difficult time knowing she isn't going to be in his room for much longer.  ;0(  It's really sweet and touching!
Anyway - all year they have been working on their life journeys and how they got to where they are now.  The journey that connects her past to the present and her journey that leads to the future.  We were super impressed with all of the hard work that had been done.  Every child wrote and illustrated an autobiography of their life, made a life-sized model of what their own body looks like, a "Me-Mobile", a flat version of themselves,  a very symbolic kite displaying what was important in their little lives, and a map of what their life looks like.  She was so proud to be sharing with everyone.  Mark set it up as an exhibit and each child sat by their own display and explained what things meant when people came by.....  It really was an incredible little project that these children did!!!  Wow!!!!!

The kids made this bridge last year in 1st grade together, I had no idea it would be worked into this year though...  Mark has really been an amazing teacher to these kids!!!
"My Journey - All About Gracie"  (doesn't she just look so proud???)
Gracie's little display of everything.....  this is her little life map she made!
Gracie's symbolic kite - - - she had a little acrostic poem using our last name, she drew our whole little family including our 2 dogs, an american flag, a colorado flag, a shamrock, a big sun, a book, a pair of skis, an airplane, a maltese cross for daddy's firefighting, and a cross.  She also wrote "I love life" on the bottom.  I just absolutely love that she wrote that - it just melts my heart.....
This was her little "Me-Mobile" and her "Flat-Gracie" which had been on a little journey to all of our relatives around the country.  The assignment was to have everyone write a little memory of her on the back - - - Gracie's was covered in lots of fun memories about her!!!   What a great little girl we are blessed with ;0)
